Crossroads Concerts…Where Irish Folk Meets the World

An exciting new world music series that blends and juxtaposes Irish folk traditions with music from many other cultures. Each concert features a different line-up of virtuoso folk musicians, including Bobby Sanabria, Sameer Gupta, Jay Gandhi, Amos Gabia, Raymond Odai Laryea, Jerry O’Sullivan, Mary Courtney, Dylan James, Tecumseh Ceasar, and many others.

Irish & Puerto Rican Fusion

Featuring 7-time Grammy nominee Bobby Sanabria leading an all-new ensemble consisting of the Plena All-Stars from Puerto Rico. Joining them are the intrepid Irish folk players Dylan James and Colin Harte

Renowned Kerry-born folk and folk-rock favorite Mary Courtney (leads the band Morning Star and has performed with Black 47) is joined by a few of the most talented Puerto Rican musicians in New York to give this tradition new life.


Irish & indian Fusion
Thurs, feb 27 | 7PM

Traditional Indian virtuosos Sameer Gupta (tabla) and Jay Gandhi (bansuri) will be joined by Irish folk musicians Jerry O’Sullivan, Dylan James, and Colin Harte.


Irish & Ghanaian west African fusion
Thurs, mar 27 | 7PM

Ghanaian drum ensemble Ekome Femo.  Appearing in this hand-clapping, foot-stomping show will Amos Gabia, Raymond Odai Laryea, Julian Bortey Kwandahor.  Joining them will be Irish folk musicians Dylan James, and Colin Harte on voice, piano, bodhrán, and djembe.

Featuring the New York-based Zikrayat ensemble, including Sami Abu Shumays, Johnny Farraj, Nezih Antakli, who are joined by Irish folk musicians Sean Tierney, Jerry O’Sullivan, and Colin Harte on voice, piano, bodhrán, and darbuka.
