Brick Walls Over Brunch Genealogy Session

  • New York Irish Center 10-40 Jackson Avenue Long Island City, NY, 11101 United States (map)

Have you hit a brick wall with your genealogy research you just can't solve? Maybe you're just interested in connecting with others about genealogy. Or perhaps it's both!

All are welcome, no matter your experience level with genealogy. Bridget Bray and the New York Irish Center want to help you on your discovery of your roots.

You will be invited to submit the brick wall in your research, plus your brunch selection. Should you merely wish to join the session without a brick wall, you are more than welcome.

On the day of the event, we will break up into small groups, and each person who submitted a brick wall will share their brick wall and answer any key questions the attendees may have. Then, within 30 minutes, each group will review the brick wall and discuss potential solutions, tips, resources—even potentially make discoveries.

Once the allotted research and review time has been met, a representative of each group shares the highlights with the person who presented the brick wall. This session has always helped the person discover new ways of looking. Sometimes, the session has completely eroded the brick wall!

Tickets are $30, which includes the session and your brunch.
