This concert will reunite two of County Cork's most esteemed musical exiles in America. Máirtín, an Irish-speaking native of Carrigaline who now lives in San Diego, California, is as entertaining a fellow as you'll ever meet. An accomplished actor (you may have seen him in The Wind that Shakes the Barley), he is a storyteller, singer, dancer and bodhrán player of international repute. Sunnyside resident Donie Carroll was born and raised in Douglas, just outside Cork City, and had a lively career as a guitar-slinging balladeer in Ireland in the late 1960s and '70s before moving to the Big Apple. He played for years with Mick Moloney, Andy McGann and other leading New York traditional musicians, and remains one of the city's best-loved Irish performers.
