Lively blended compositions drawing from Irish traditional music and West-African Ghanaian music will be performed by renowned musicians from the Ghanaian drum ensemble Ekome Femo. Appearing in this hand-clapping, foot-stomping show will Amos Gabia (voice, djembe, dun dun), Raymond Odai Laryea (djembe, dun dun, gankogui), and Julian Bortey Kwandahor (djembe, voice, dance). Joining them will be Dylan James (fiddle, banjo and dance), and Colin Harte on voice, piano, bodhrán and djembe.
Over a 30-year career, master drummer Laryea played internationally with the Pan African Orchestra of Ghana, Indigenous Africa, National Theater of Ghana, Gonje Band, Afeenoko Group, and Ayeeko Drummers. He is a member of the Rochester-based ensemble Womba Africa. Kwandahor is also a member of Womba Africa.
